Simpatia é quase Amor, Ipanema’s largest bloco, attracted over 20 thousand people to the streets. One of the most fun spots is at the corner of street Garcia D’Ávila, where it meets with bloco Que Merda é Essa.

The first Samba Parade night featuring the Special Group Samba Schools was a success, but the weather played a trick Academicos da Rocinha. The rain poured, and everybody in the audience had to rush for disposable rain jackets. Vendors must have been very happy! The rain stopped right after Rocinha left the runway. As this was their first time with the major group, let’s think of it as beginner’s luck.
