A good reason to end up in a float is looking exceptionally good. Some floats feature muscled boys in revealing suits, and girls in bikinis covered in glitter. The bodies are shaped by hours at the gym, possibly a helpful hand of a good plastic surgeon. Going topless is OK, but complete nudity is not allowed. Doing the samba exceptionally well is a big plus. The guys pushing the float usually come in costumes that complement whatever the floatees are wearing. When there's a quick stop they join the fun, and dance and sing, too.
